President's Statement

Palm Drive Hospital's progress during this past year is a credit to our entire Western Sonoma County community. Through the Palm Drive Health Care Foundation, people have stepped forward with support for our hospital ranging from financial contributions to reseeding our helipad. Our elected Hospital District Board has worked tirelessly with the hospital administration to assure that our hospital continues to provide the very best clinical care.

Our hospital is doing well. Palm Drive, nearby with its 24-hour emergency room, stroke center, new medical center and expanding services, is in its best condition in years. Best of all, as a community hospital, it belongs to each and every one of us.

At the Palm Drive Health Care Foundation we are dedicated to the health and well-being of West County residents, with a focus on our community-owned hospital as a cornerstone. Thanks to your donations, the Foundation has been able to provide over $1 Million to Palm Drive Hospital over the past two years including support of

• a new helipad for life-saving patient transport
• a specialized operating-room table for orthopedic surgeries
• cardiac crash carts
• medical microscope
• a pulmonary evaluation machine for critical patient diagnostics

and much more.

We are fortunate to have a hospital which is fast becoming a leader in rural medicine with the 2008 addition of the robotic medicine program which allows specialized care 24/7. This network, based at Palm Drive, provides care not only to our hospital but to many remote hospital facilities. Through this robotic telemedicine program we are helping to bring rural medicine into a bright future.

However, none of this progress would have been possible without the enduring support of the West County community. Because of generous contributions, the Palm Drive Health Care Foundation now has grown its assets into more than $1 million. The Foundation will to continue to assist the hospital in capacity building and improvements, in replacements and upgrades, and in all those capital expenditures which will keep our hospital moving forward

In this year of good news, we are reaching out to all members of our community to make a charitable gift through the Foundation to continue the good work of our hospital. No gift is too small. Our administration and medical staff have created a list of priority purchases to further enhance the clinical and patient care our hospital provides. You'll find it included on this website.

Thank you again for your continuing support that makes our work possible and sustains the vital community asset that is Palm Drive Hospital. Each of our donors becomes a member of our Foundation and together we will continue to see our hospital grow and thrive. We hope to include you among our members for 2010.
